We’re no wedding fair aficionados who’d chase one fair after the other. But I can’t blame one for being. Wedding fairs are akin to shopping: they’re simply addicting. Especially for the bride-to-be, for obvious reasons. But they are as helpful to the soon-to-weds like us as they are engaging. Through them, we were able to scout and book suppliers, and establish rapport with their staff and owners, touch up with the latest trends, bag deals, discounts and freebies (which is, for most, the chief motivation for going there). And with the conclusion of last weekend’s 15th Wedding Expo at the PICC, we feel our wedding-fair itinerary is also drawing to a close. We’ll probably go to a couple of smaller events that are conveniently hosted inside malls. But that’s it for the big ones.

josiah, oh josiah

When I started searching for our wedding caterer, the names Josiah’s, Hizon’s, K by Cunanan, Juan Carlo, Center Table and Eloquente were the frontrunners. But because we’re on a tight budget, I’d normally pass up their invitation for food tasting. We won’t be getting them anyway, so why waste both our time (mine and the caterer’s)? But I’d often wondered if their food is as good as what their past clients are professing. Is it really worth the price tag?

So imagine my delight when after I registered for the Wedding Expo (help last weekend at the PICC), I received a newsletter stating that I can also register for Josiah’s grand food tasting to be held during the event. Josiah’s catering is reputed for good food and elegant setup. Hence, a good feedback. I guess no time will be wasted since we’ll be at the Wedding Expo anyway. So I registered.

Fast-forward to the food tasting. Here are the photos of dishes that we sampled:
