so when’s the date?

It looks like we’ve finally settled on a date for our wedding. It satisfies all the factors that we’re considering: 1. it’s a weekend 2. numerically, it means something good or lucky 3. it’s a full moon. And it also gives us enough time to raise funds for our wedding finances and for D to sort out the problems with his birth documents. So when it’s gonna be?

wedding date

It will be on January 30, 2010.

Although initially, D wanted us to wed before the year ends, we have to take a lot of things into consideration. Most important of these are the documents and the budget. There is a discrepancy in D’s birth certificate and according to the civil regristrar (the municipal officer who’s in charge with these cases), it might take 3-6 months to sort this out.  D’s already filed a petition, submitted the required documents and is awaiting the approval of the officer. Nevertheless, we’re putting a 9-month time allowance just in case it takes longer than what we’re told. Budget is also an issue as we both want to shoulder all the wedding expenses and we rely mostly on our freelance incomes. You can read that as unstable.

So January 10, 2010 seems suitable and will give us ample time to prepare without putting us in too much stress and pressure. And 9 months is just perfect for me and my DIY ideas. So come back often and watch out for the DIY wedding projects.

Happy weekends everyone!
