Brides normally obsessed about their gowns. But I think my obsession is on my DIY wedding projects… and the rings.

Since D proposed to me and fitted THE ring in my finger, I’ve never stopped admiring it. Not because it is set with a stone that costs almost as much as our allotted budget for the wedding, but because it looks so beautiful in my small, dainty hand (and my hand looks so much more beautiful with it). D managed to choose the perfect ring.

And when the wedding plans are laid out, the first thing we typed on Google are the words ‘wedding rings’. D wants a non-traditional and symbolic design for the rings and we both agreed that the love knot is the most suitable one, symbolizing two souls bound in everlasting love.

Although in the end, we decided against it when we learned of the steep asking price for custom-made wedding rings.  We settled for another design, the wave design in Unity Design Wedding Bands, where yellow gold is soldered permanently with white gold in a unique wave pattern to symbolize the wedding union.

But ours is a bit more rounded like this, except that it doesn’t have a ‘layered look’:

We’re happy with the price that we’re quoted with and paid 50% of it right away.

But still, I would often find myself looking at some wedding ring designs. Like tonight, when I stumbled upon this exceptionally beautiful,  handcrafted and braided wedding rings made by Todd Allan of HandWovenBands.

Good thing that they’re a bit pricey, which keeps me from ordering a second pair of wedding rings. But they’re so irresistible!
