Remember this LED tea lights that I featured in my DIY wedding popsicle lamps?

I got a lot of inquiries from brides asking where I bought them. But it seems that the store where I bought them from are no longer selling LED tea lights. Others have found some in other stores but they are too expensive. So I’m sure you’ll be delighted to know that there’s a cheaper and more accessible DIY version. And you don’t have to be an electrical wiz kid to do it. Or you can ask help from your grooms, I’m sure they know a thing or two about LED lights and batteries.
Materials:
1. LED bulbs that you can buy at any hardware stores.

2. Lithium batteries or those batteries you use for wristwatches.

3. Electrical tape.

Procedure:
1. Place the battery between the two wires, with the longer wire touching the positive pole and the shorter wire touching the negative pole.

2. Wrap the battery tightly with an electrical tape making sure that the wires are kept in place.

3. You can wrap a few LED bulbs together if you need the light to be brighter.

And that’s it. It’s really easy and I can imagine how many lighted wedding crafts can you do with these DIY LED lights. Lithium batteries last a long time so you can make these LED lights one or two days in advance and they’ll still be shining bright on your wedding.

Hi, what voltage LED bulb did you use with the 3V lithium battery? Did you notice if they were too hot? I keep reading I need to use resistors and it seems you didn’t and safely. Thanks!
got it!
