I Hate This Part

14 Apr

Dang!

2nd anniversary preparations is down to 1 day and he’s a little mad at me because I wasn’t able to do something I promised to do last night. I was too wrapped up with the clubhouse sandwich recipe and all the sweet, little details that I want to do for tomorrow. But of course, I can’t tell him that. So here I am, sulking a bit. But later today, I will start on the ‘things’ that I’m going to use for the breakfast table setting tomorrow. And maybe after that, I can manage to go to the grocery without him tugging along.

And if I can push my luck further, I wish to grab one of these:

Oh summer, I’d love you more if you weren’t so damn hot!

2-day Preparations: 2nd anniversary

13 Apr

Enough of the wedding preparations (and daydreaming) for now, our 2nd anniversary is two days away and I need to whip up something because most of our previous plans will no longer push through (these plans include going somewhere special to celebrate). As of today, the plan is to either cook for each other (he cooks for me, I cook for him) or eat out. But the romantic in me is asking where’s the romance in that. So I thought of preparing a surprise breakfast celebration for him. Breakfast because he’s on night-shift this whole month and it will be nice to have something waiting for him when he comes home in the morning. Like a really hearty breakfast. Full of love.

Here’s what’s going through my head:

1. Transform my bedroom into something else other than my bedroom. How to do that, I have no idea. Maybe I’ll clean it up first to start with.

2. Breakfast menu. I want a clubhouse sandwich, some fries maybe, and choco smoothies. I’m sure he’ll want them, too. So I need to prepare THE clubhouse sandwich of all clubhouse sandwiches and learn a really good choco smoothie recipe. The problem is when do I buy my supplies? He doesn’t go to work until 8:30 p.m. so I really need to come up with an excuse to go to the grocery without him, which is next to impossible. Aaarrggh!

3. Think of more ideas. I only have two days and I only have the evenings to prepare and pull everything off for it to be a true surprise. And I only have two ideas so far!!!

First try: Converting into Vector Image

Using Photoshop and Illustrator, here’s my first vector image converted from an actual photograph.

I just love how the hair turned out.

Cartoonified

9 Apr

As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I’m currently doing some designs (by editing templates) for invitations. I came across some vector images and thought that they will be great alternatives to having your photo on the invitation. Imagine a cartoon-like version of yourself instead of your actual photo.

Business Creative

8 Apr

I own a home-based desktop publishing shop. Nothing fancy, nor artistic, just a shop that offers a handful of services from printing photo to business cards to everyday documents. But lately, I’ve been thinking of expanding to personalized greeting cards and invitations.

I plan on designing them myself, and D also volunteered his services. But right now, all I have is some pre-made PSD layouts I got from D’s collection of vector and PSD templates. With these layouts, all I need to do is put pictures on them, giving little avenue for the creative in me to run wild. But one of these days, I will come up with some of my own. Until then, these PSD layouts should do well for now.
